He faithfully served as a prophet, priest, and judge, providing godly leadership and guidance to the nation.

Hannah was one of the two wives of Elkanah. Deeply distressed by her inability to have children, Hannah prayed fervently to the Lord, vowing to dedicate any son she bore to His service. God heard her prayers, and she gave birth to Samuel. True to her vow, Hannah brought the young Samuel to the tabernacle and presented him to the priest Eli to be raised in service to the Lord. Hannah's story is one of profound faith and trust in God, even in the midst of personal sorrow.

Samson was one of the judges appointed by God to deliver the Israelites from the oppression of the Philistines. Born to Manoah and his wife as a Nazirite, Samson possessed superhuman strength given to him by God's Spirit. He used this strength to repeatedly attack and torment the Philistines, despite his own moral failings. Samson's most famous exploits included tearing a lion apart with his bare hands, slaying 1,000 Philistines with the jawbone of a donkey, and bringing down a Philistine temple, killing himself and thousands of Philistines in the process.

The story of David and Goliath is one of the most well-known narratives in the Bible, found in 1 Samuel 17. It takes place during a time of conflict between the Israelites and the Philistines. The Philistines had sent out their champion warrior, Goliath, who was an immense man described as over 9 feet tall. Goliath challenged the Israelites to send out their own champion to fight him in single combat, with the outcome deciding the victor between the two armies.

The biblical account of King Solomon's reign testifies to his extraordinary wisdom, which was granted to him directly by God. When Solomon became king of Israel, he humbly asked God for "a discerning heart to govern your people and to distinguish between right and wrong" (1 Kings 3:9). In response, the Lord said to Solomon, "I will do what you have asked. I will give you a wise and discerning heart, so that there will never have been anyone like you, nor will there ever be" (1 Kings 3:12).
